Grab your uke and get ready for six weeks of strumming, singing, laughing, and learning!
This workshop is perfect for brand-new players or anyone who knows a few chords but wants to actually feel confident making music.

We’ll keep things simple, hands-on, and fun—no heavy theory, no pressure, and absolutely no experience needed. You’ll learn by playing real songs, exploring creative exercises, and making music with the group. All materials included!

By the end, you’ll be strumming smoothly, switching chords with confidence, and even writing a little music of your own.

Week 1: Meet Your Ukulele & Make Your First Music

• Learn how to hold, tune, and strum your uke

• Play your first 1–2 chords (yes, today!)

• Learn simple rhythm patterns

• Group play-along: Your first song!

Week 2: Chords Made Easy

• Build your chord toolkit

• Tricks for faster, smoother chord changes

• Understand how chords “fit” together in songs

• Play-along: 2–3 chord favorites everyone knows

Week 3: Strumming Patterns & Feel

• Learn fun strumming grooves (down-ups, calypso, island feel)

• Add dynamics: soft, loud, bouncy, relaxed

• Explore rhythm through call-and-response

• Play-along: Turn one song into three different “vibes”

Week 4: Melody on the Uke

• Learn what a scale is (in the most friendly way possible)

• Play your first melodies on one string, then more

• How to “pick” a melody while keeping rhythm simple

• Play-along: Create a tiny melody of your own

Week 5: Putting It Together – Songs, Songs, Songs

• Combine chords + strums + simple melody ideas

• Learn a full song from start to finish

• How to read ukulele song sheets and tabs

• Play-along: Group jam with harmonies & optional singing

Week 6: Create Your Own Mini Song

• Choose your favorite chords & strumming pattern

• Write a short tune or verse (solo or with a partner!)

• Add a melody or simple picking pattern

• Group share: Celebrate progress with a fun, relaxed jam

By the End of the 6 Weeks, You Will…

• Strum confidently and keep a steady rhythm
