Teen Pop (Ages 11-14)

Teen Pop is a beginner-friendly music program designed for tweens and early teens who want to play and sing the pop songs they love. This class focuses on guitar and vocals in a supportive, collaborative environment, giving students the skills to strum, sing, and jam along with their favorite hits — from today’s chart-toppers to timeless pop favorites. Vocals are optional but encouraged!

In each session, students learn the building blocks of guitar playing, including chords, strumming patterns, and basic rhythm, while exploring their voice and how it connects with the music. The class is designed to be approachable for beginners, so no prior experience is necessary — just curiosity, enthusiasm, and a love of music.

Beyond individual skills, Teen Pop emphasizes community and collaboration. Students play and sing together, encouraging teamwork, creativity, and confidence as they learn side by side with peers who share their interests. By the end of the program, students will have a growing repertoire of songs, stronger musical skills, and a fun, supportive group of fellow young musicians to share it with.

We offer fall (September through December), Winter (Jan-Mar) and Spring (April-June) 12 week terms. Students will take a break in December for the holidays and are able to participate in our option December Winter Concert if they are interested in performing. There is also an option for students to sign up for our Summer Concert to perform, as well as optional summer workshops and an summer term (July & August).
